Parenting Assessments
Independent parenting assessments to evaluate the ability of parents or prospective carers to meet the needs of children under their care. Through detailed observations, interviews, and assessments, a comprehensive report informs decisions regarding a child’s long-term placement/residence.
Parenting Capacity to Change Assessment
Independent parent capacity to change assessments – the purpose being to demonstrate if parents have the capacity to make the necessary changes to effectively care for and support their children. This includes assessing their willingness to engage in interventions, their ability to understand and acknowledge the issues they may be facing, and their motivation to develop new skills and strategies.
Residence and Contact Assessment
Independent assessment to determine the most suitable residence and contact arrangements for a child when parents are unable to agree on these matters. This assessment process typically involves interviews, observations, the use of standardised assessment tools and the option to review professional records. A thorough evaluation of the child’s best interests, facilitating informed recommendations regarding their care and contact with parents.
Voice of the Child Assessment
The aim of this independent assessment is to gather the thoughts, feelings, and opinions of a child regarding matters that directly affect them such as residence and contact arrangements, parenting plans or other family law issues. It provides an opportunity for children to have their voices heard and taken into consideration in legal proceedings.
Pre-birth Assessment
Independent pre-birth assessment to identify any factors or circumstances that may impact the wellbeing and safety of the child once they are born. The assessment aims to gather information about the expectant parents, their living situation, their support network, and any potential risks or concerns that may need to be addressed.
Alternative Dispute Resolutions / Mediation
This service is provided as a means of enabling and facilitating parents to resolve disputes through a process where I facilitate communication and negotiation between the parties involved within a safe and structured environment.
Motivational Interviewing/Motivation to Change
A counselling approach that aims to facilitate and enhance an individual’s motivation to change problematic behaviour. This collaborative and person-centered method helps individuals explore their ambivalence towards change and find their own internal motivation to make positive changes in their lives.

Specialised Assessments for Parental Capacity

Public Law Assessments
We specialise in conducting thorough assessments to evaluate the capacity and capability of parents to provide a nurturing environment for their children over the longer term. Our assessments can be court-directed, privately commissioned by parents, or contracted through the Trusts. These assessments are comprehensive, time-limited, and geared towards determining the viability of long-term rehabilitation for children to their parents’ care.

Private Law Assessments
Our objective is to determine the best options for children regarding rehabilitation into their parents’ care whether through private law arrangements that allow for residence or by facilitating contact between children and their parents.
